CHRISTIAN VIZL est né à Mexico et est photographe depuis plus de trois décennies. Il a remporté des dizaines de prix internationaux de photographie, dont celui de Photographe animalier de l'année, Photographe international de l'année, Sony World Photography Awards et World Photographic Cup. Il a été juge dans plusieurs concours internationaux de photographie sous-marine et ses images ont été publiées dans de nombreux médias, dont National Geographic et Ocean Geographic.
Depuis que je suis enfant, d'aussi loin que je me souvienne, j'ai été attiré par la mer. J'ai rêvé de ce qui se trouvait sous les vagues et de ce à quoi cela ressemblerait si soudain toute l'eau disparaissait, laissant en stase tous les animaux et créatures vivantes. De cette façon, je pouvais marcher à l'intérieur de l'océan et les voir tous, suspendus un instant dans le temps et l'espace. J'ai consacré ma vie à explorer et à contempler l'incroyable beauté de l'océan et ce fut un voyage incroyable qui m'a apporté un profond sentiment de connexion avec la nature, mais malheureusement, au cours de ma vie, j'ai été témoin de la dévastation toujours croissante que nous, les humains. créent sur cette planète. Aujourd'hui, l'océan mondial est en grave danger ; la surpêche, la pollution, les plastiques, les radiations, le changement climatique, l'acidification et d'autres pressions humaines menacent la nature fondamentale de l'océan et ses animaux sont en voie de disparition. Le moment est venu d'agir et d'inverser notre impact négatif, avant qu'il ne soit trop tard au risque de tout perdre. La majorité des humains voient la vie marine comme simplement des tonnes de nourriture, mais je les vois comme bien plus que cela. Ils n'ont pas de voix que nous pouvons comprendre, donc le but supérieur de mes images est d'être une voix de l'océan et pour l'océan, en espérant que les gens auront un aperçu de qui ils sont vraiment ; de belles personnes sensibles avec des sentiments et des personnalités différentes, avec des comportements complexes et des vies intéressantes que la science commence seulement à comprendre. Je crois que la photographie est capable de rendre un réel service à l'humanité, en promouvant l'empathie et en initiant le changement, donc mon objectif principal en tant que photographe est de créer des images poétiques montrant l'incroyable beauté de ces animaux sachant qu'ils ont le pouvoir de changer notre perception et de susciter l'amour et l'empathie que nous avons tous en nous. Si nous voulons avoir un avenir sur cette planète, nous devons comprendre que nos vies sont interconnectées à tous les animaux vivants et à leur environnement, et notre propre bien-être est directement lié au bien-être de l'ensemble de l'écosystème. Comme l'a déclaré le Dr Sylvia Earle « pas de bleu, pas de vert, si les océans meurent, nous mourrons » Toutes les images ont été prises dans leur environnement naturel avec un grand respect pour les animaux et pour la postproduction, j'utilise uniquement les paramètres Lightroom de base
